3/9/2005 Which side are you on? Are you with God or Against God?It's Wednesday. Keep pressing in and pressing on, God has great plans for you today. Our reading today comes from Matthew 12:22-60, Leviticus 15-16, and Proverbs 27. Obedience. Are you on God's side? God is looking for those who are obedient to His will. People who are looking to serve Him. There is a spiritual war going on and there is no neutral ground. The devil may try to make you think there is so that you become ineffective for God's army, but in reality you are either on God's side or the enemy, your either helping, or you're making it worse. I was in Clensing Stream and one of the people in the class had a dream that he was sitting on the beach in his beach chair with shorts and a T-Shirt, when we he realized that He was in the middle of a war zone. That is where a bunch of us could be today. We don't think there is a spiritual war going on so we are sitting on the metaphoric beach taking it easy. Meanwhile there is a war going on the some how we are missing. It was during that class he brought in a picture he had painted which he realized had more meaning that he realized before having taken the class. Here is the a copy of the picture:
http://www.jimlambstudio.com/print/SpiritualWarrior.html Daily we are to put on all of God's armor. Ephesians 6 says: 10 A final word: Be strong with the Lord's mighty power. 11 Put on all of God's armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies and tricks of the Devil. 12 For we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against the evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against those mighty powers of darkness who rule this world, and against wicked spirits in the heavenly realms. 13 Use every piece of God's armor to resist the enemy in the time of evil, so that after the battle you will still be standing firm. 14 Stand your ground, putting on the sturdy belt of truth and the body armor of God's righteousness. 15 For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News, so that you will be fully prepared. F13 16 In every battle you will need faith as your shield to stop the fiery arrows aimed at you by Satan. F14 17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 Pray at all times and on every occasion in the power of the Holy Spirit. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all Christians everywhere. From today's WORD from GOD, we learn how important it is to trust in God's Spirit as the Holy Spirit is able to forgive you. We need to stay close to God, He is our strength, He is our shelter, He is our fortress, He is our deliverer, He is our strong tower, He is our ever present help in times of need, He is our hope. Starting with verse 32 says: If you reject the Son of Man out of some misunderstanding, the Holy Spirit can forgive you, but when you reject the Holy Spirit, you're sawing off the branch on which you're sitting, severing by your own perversity all connection with the One who forgives. If you grow a healthy tree, you'll pick healthy fruit. If you grow a diseased tree, you'll pick worm-eaten fruit. The fruit tells you about the tree. You have minds like a snake pit! How do you suppose what you say is worth anything when you are so foul-minded? It's your heart, not the dictionary, that gives meaning to your words. A good person produces good deeds and words season after season. An evil person is a blight on the orchard. Let me tell you something: Every one of these careless words is going to come back to haunt you. There will be a time of Reckoning. Words are powerful; take them seriously. Words can be your salvation. Words can also be your damnation. So we need not only to trust and obey and believe what the Holy Spirit says, but we need to watch our words. Words can help or they can hurt. Words can build up or they can tear down. Words can lift up or they can bring down. (Prov 10, 12, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 22, 23, 24, 26, 29, 30, 21) I pray that you can receive the WORD from God, the divine word inspired by God and given to man. Have you considered giving your life over to Jesus? Have you prayed the prayer of faith to let Jesus into your heart? If you confess your sins, He is just and will forgive them. If you pray and ask Jesus into your heart, He will. If you would like help with the prayer, here is a link to help. Today's WORDS of WISDOM from the book of PROVERBS Chapter 27 1 Don't brashly announce what you're going to do tomorrow; you don't know the first thing about tomorrow. 2 Don't call attention to yourself; let others do that for you. 3 Carrying a log across your shoulders while you're hefting a boulder with your arms Is nothing compared to the burden of putting up with a fool. 4 We're blasted by anger and swamped by rage, but who can survive jealousy? 5 A spoken reprimand is better than approval that's never expressed. 6 The wounds from a lover are worth it; kisses from an enemy do you in. 7 When you've stuffed yourself, you refuse dessert; when you're starved, you could eat a horse. 8 People who won't settle down, wandering hither and yon, are like restless birds, flitting to and fro. 9 Just as lotions and fragrance give sensual delight, a sweet friendship refreshes the soul. 10 Don't leave your friends or your parents' friends and run home to your family when things get rough; Better a nearby friend than a distant family. 11 Become wise, dear child, and make me happy; then nothing the world throws my way will upset me. 12 A prudent person sees trouble coming and ducks; a simpleton walks in blindly and is clobbered. 13 Hold tight to collateral on any loan to a stranger; be wary of accepting what a transient has pawned. 14 If you wake your friend in the early morning by shouting "Rise and shine!" It will sound to him more like a curse than a blessing. 15 A nagging spouse is like the drip, drip, drip of a leaky faucet; 16 You can't turn it off, and you can't get away from it. Your Face Mirrors Your Heart 17 You use steel to sharpen steel, and one friend sharpens another. 18 If you care for your orchard, you'll enjoy its fruit; if you honor your boss, you'll be honored. 19 Just as water mirrors your face, so your face mirrors your heart. 20 Hell has a voracious appetite, and lust just never quits. 21 The purity of silver and gold is tested by putting them in the fire; The purity of human hearts is tested by giving them a little fame. 22 Pound on a fool all you like - you can't pound out foolishness. 23 Know your sheep by name; carefully attend to your flocks; 24 (Don't take them for granted; possessions don't last forever, you know.) 25 And then, when the crops are in and the harvest is stored in the barns, 26 You can knit sweaters from lambs' wool, and sell your goats for a profit; 27 There will be plenty of milk and meat to last your family through the winter.
