Throughout our lives, there will be storms. God is available during those times, but unless we turn to Him, trusting that He will help us through, we can feel very discouraged.

 

We see that Jesus had the power and authority to say to the wind to be silent and it obeyed.

We see that Jesus had the power to calm the waves.

There is nothing that isn't under the authority of Jesus.

 

When I think of a storm, I see the big dark clouds moving in, making everything dark, the light is being blocked out, so we would almost think it was night time.

 

But in our lives, there are times where we can feel like a dark cloud just moved in. We see in Psalm 42 that the writer was going through a very hard time. Although we sing songs from this that sound joyful, considering the words, we see that they were going through a storm. One of those, if it rains, it pours types of storms.

 

This makes me think of the song we used to sing as a kid:

When I think about the storms in our life, and the incredible love and sacrifice of Jesus, I feel and believe that this song would be better sung with sun being written as son. Since the real storms are cast away, are stopped by the blood and power and authority of Jesus. God is LIGHT, there is no darkness in Him.

Jesus is the LIGHT of the World. - I pray you will think of this song as I do, and be encouraged and know that having a relationship with Jesus, will make all things possible. (Note - not all bad things - all good things)
